[edit] Information
In the animal world, as in our own, looks aren't everything! From frightful fish and beastly birds to repellent pugs and a mysterious mole, join the search for the world's ugliest animals to learn why they look the way they do. The features that we find grotesque are vital for the survival of these fascinating creatures. You'll witness the hideous camouflaged jaws of the alligator snapping turtle in action, see why one of the strangest noses in nature makes the star- nosed mole such a successful hunter, and come face to frightening face with the needle-toothed viperfish. These ghastly creatures may not be pinups of the animal world, but they are each glorious in their own unique way.
