[edit] Information
In 1954, 21-year-old Karl Lagerfeld won the first prize for coat design in a competition while 18-year-old Yves Saint Laurent took home the top prize for best suit design, inciting a rivalry between the two buddies. Things worsened when YSL was offered the top post at Dior after Christian Dior’s death. Lagerfeld reacted by stating that he detested high fashion and devoted his time to designing everyday clothing. The icon created flowy designs with bold prints for Chloe, Fendi & his namesake brand, carrying off shows that no one could ever dream of. Discover the unmatched legacy of the man who said goodbye to the runways of the world in February 2019, leaving a void that is yet to be filled.
