[edit] Information
Director Faiza Ahmad Khan's amusing and moving award-winning film about a group of quirky no-budget film-makers. Malegaon is one of Maharashtra's big cities, a cloth-production centre that has often become fraught with tension between its Hindu and Muslim populations. Many of the city's inhabitants barely survive on their meagre earnings, so, to escape their harsh reality, its loom workers usually seek refuge in the world of cinema. This passion prompted a group of enthusiasts, led by Shaikh Nasir, to make their own films. They have no budget to speak of but that doesn't stop them from making hilarious spoofs of blockbusters.
