[edit] Information
On May 25, 2008, NASA's Phoenix Lander will enter the Martian atmosphere and land on its polar ice-cap in the last phase of a historic mission to investigate Mars' past by digging down into the soil and ice - something that has never been done before. Scientists hope that the mission will reveal a great deal about Mars' geological history, but the biggest question they seek to answer: was Mars ever a watery world? And if so, could it have harboured primitive forms of life? This episode tells the story of this incredible NASA mission while investigating the Red Planet's warm, wet past.
